The General Gantry Crane (GB/T14406) is a heavy-duty lifting equipment widely used in open-air yards, warehouses, ports, railway freight stations, etc., characterized by its large span, wide lifting weight range, and flexible operation.
Its lifting device is a hook, grab, or electromagnet (electromagnetic chuck), or a combination of two or three of them. Its structure consists of a gantry, crane trolley, main trolley running mechanism, electrical control system, wind protection device, ladder platform, etc.
1. Main Technical Parameters
1.1. Lifting Capacity:
Standard Range: 5~500 tons (larger tonnage can be customized according to needs).
Graded Design: Main hook (main hoist) and auxiliary hook (auxiliary hoist) combination, suitable for complex working conditions.
1.2. Span (L): Usually 10~40 meters, mid-span or cantilever design can expand the operating range.
1.3. Lifting Height (H):
Standard Height: 6~30 meters (adjusted according to Spreader type).
Special Needs: Higher lifting heights can be customized.
1.4. Working Level:
Divided into A1~A8 levels according to usage frequency and load status (e.g., A3 level is suitable for general loading and unloading, A6/A7 is suitable for frequent heavy loads).
1.5. Running Speed:
Main Trolley Travel: 20~40 m/min (smooth start and stop achieved by variable frequency speed regulation).
Trolley Travel: 10~30 m/min.
Hoisting Speed: 1~15 m/min (low speed for heavy loads, high speed for light loads).
2. Operation and Control
2.1. Operation Method:
Cab Control: Equipped with a control console or touch screen, providing a wide field of vision, suitable for long-term operation.
Ground Remote Control: Wireless remote control operation, flexible and safe, suitable for dangerous or complex environments.
Automated Control: PLC and sensors can be integrated to achieve precise positioning, automatic obstacle avoidance, and other functions.
Power Supply: Trolley wire power supply or cable reel power supply, suitable for different site layouts.
3. Safety Protection Devices
3.1. Multiple Limit Protection: Lifting height limit, travel limit, anti-collision device.
3.2. Overload Protection: Overload sensors monitor the load in real time, automatically cutting off operation when overloaded.
3.3. Windproof and Anti-skid System:
Rail clamps, anchoring devices, wind speed alarm (suitable for outdoor environments with strong winds).
3.4. Emergency Stop: One-button emergency stop button ensures quick response in emergencies.
