Crane industry sub-segments are emerging, with refinement as a key development direction

Recently, in the list of the top ten companies in the engineering machinery crane industry, China occupied 4 seats. Among them, XCMG Group, the largest engineering machinery company in China, ranked third, Zoomlion, Sany Group, and Fuda Heavy Industry ranked fifth, seventh, and tenth respectively. The Chinese crane industry will play an increasingly important role on the world stage.
Although China has become the world's largest crane market and a major exporter of small-tonnage cranes, its competitiveness in ultra-large tonnage cranes is still insufficient, and engines, hydraulic components, and electrical control systems remain obstacles to development. Technological breakthroughs in ultra-large tonnage cranes are more dependent on large domestic enterprises with strong technical capabilities, because large-tonnage products are technology-oriented, and small and medium-sized enterprises may lack technological accumulation and financial support.
XCMG, Zoomlion, Sany, and Fuda Heavy Industry's products have all exceeded 1,000 tons. In other words, the four companies in the crawler crane production team have achieved good technological breakthroughs. From a scale perspective, truck cranes occupy a larger market share. Therefore, for the four companies in the team, internal and external cultivation is even more important. They must not only face fierce competition from the domestic market, but also face technological competition from international companies. To some extent, the share of the overseas market is a decisive factor in the future development of engineering machinery companies.
With the peak of national infrastructure construction in power, petrochemicals, steel, and transportation, the domestic crane market will expand rapidly. The large-scale trend of cranes has become an irreversible fact. In addition, crane companies can improve production and sales coordination, ensure contract fulfillment, ensure timely delivery of products, establish maintenance service points overseas, increase after-sales service for exported products, improve the recognition of overseas customers, continuously improve after-sales processes, and use services to drive market share growth.
Currently, the signs of industry market segmentation have emerged, and refinement is the key direction for future enterprise development. Therefore, providing professional products for customers in different fields and meeting their special needs to a greater extent has become the key content of the next step of development for most brand companies. Not only is the crane industry shifting towards a customer-centric marketing concept, but the entire engineering machinery industry is constantly improving its sales concepts and transforming its development model.
